The Bee Hive

The Bee Hive Club, Incorporated, was founded in the early 1940’s. It was started by a group of men who were members of Arlington Lodge No. 58, Free and Accepted, Prince Hall Masons.

They formed the club to assist Arlington Lodge in raising funds for various sponsored civic and community programs. On May 3, 2001 the club was granted IRS IRC501(c) (10) Domestic Fraternal Societies non-profit status.  On January 12, 2014, the Internal Revenue Service recertified the federal tax-exempt status.

The Bee Hive Club continues to be a charitable organization that dispenses charity and performs other civic assistance when called upon by members of the Arlington community, military service members and families. Additionally, we have an educational scholarship program that has awarded thousands of dollars to deserving students residing in Arlington, Virginia and the National Capital Region areas.

The primary goal of the Bee Hive Club Inc. continues to be as the sole fundraiser for Arlington Lodge #58 and to contribute in a myriad of other areas it may be called to assist in.

Domestic Fraternal Societies (501(c)(10))

A domestic fraternal society, order, or association must file an application for recognition of exemption from federal income tax on Form 1024. The application and accompanying statements should establish that the organization:

-Is a domestic fraternal organization organized in the U.S.,

-Operates under the lodge system,

-Devotes its net earnings exclusively to religious, charitable, scientific, literary, educational, and fraternal purposes, and

-Does not provide for the payment of life, sick, accident, or other benefits to its members.
